THE FREAKS OF LAUREL CREEK
Logline: The half-hour young adult animated fantasy dramedy follows three dysfunctional teens who must learn to work together and embrace their inner "freak" as they investigate the mysterious cryptids plaguing their quiet Appalachian town.
The Freaks of Laurel Creek (TFOLC) has been a passion-project-turned-indie-cartoon in development since 2017. A homage to Southern Appalachia, TFOLC caters to young adults that had appreciated narrative-based children’s cartoons of the 2010’s but have since aged out of said demographic. Combining rich storytelling with adult comedy and drama, this character driven cartoon is sure to provide some good ole fashioned Southern Comfort! …and awaken Appalachian eldritch horrors.
PILOT: “Lone Wolf”
Synopsis: After years of being a social recluse, an anxious werewolf must enlist the help of a peppy witch and a cynical satyr to get to the bottom of their town’s disappearances.
